Creativity is often required here, because the shops in the city are either completely overcrowded or even already closed. With our tips for Christmas gifts that can be made quickly with just a few tools, you will still give your loved ones a lot of joy on Christmas Eve!

Make your own Christmas card - personal and individual Christmas gifts

The Christmas card is a classic Christmas gift, but it is also very personal. Not only the loving words on the card should please the recipient and bring him luck for the new year, but also the design of the card has to be chosen carefully each time. The typical Christmas motifs such as Christmas tree, snowflakes, candles, Father Christmas or reindeer make the hearts of enthusiastic Christmas friends beat faster. Despite the fact that the Christmas season can always be hectic - most people appreciate the many lights, the smell of gingerbread and the cosiness at home during these few weeks. Of course, there are many different Christmas cards with the most diverse motifs to buy for little money. But you can make your own personal Christmas cards for your loved ones. Your basic equipment for creating your personal Christmas gift should include the following tools:

The most popular motifs on Christmas cards include Christmas trees, Father Christmases, reindeer, Saint Nicholas, stars, Christmas angels and sleighs. There are no limits to your creativity. Depending on how much time you have and how much you want, you can combine different motifs and highlight them with glitter pens. It is also possible to make both two-dimensional and three-dimensional motifs for that special surprise. Playful and beautiful are also die-cuts in the Christmas card, for example in the shape of stars, snowflakes or fir trees.

Christmas card with Christmas tree as a personal Christmas gift

For a homemade Christmas card with a fir tree, it is best to use natural-coloured paper cardboard as a base, dark green paper for the fir tree, some brown paper for the trunk if necessary, cord or ribbon, golden glitter or alternatively glitter pens. The scissors and craft glue should also be ready.

Cut out a fir tree shape from the dark green paper and glue it to the front of the box. Cut the tree trunk out of the brown paper. Next, make the "tree decorations". You can cut the cord or ribbon into short pieces to connect the individual branches of the tree. Alternatively, use a large piece of ribbon to connect the branches from top to bottom. For the Christmas balls of the Christmas tree, you can put glue in a round shape on the green paper in the respective places and then sprinkle the glitter on it so that it sticks. It is also possible to paint them with the glitter pen. You can also paint a star on the top of the Christmas tree with a glitter pen or make a little bow from the ribbons and stick it on. That's it! On the back of your homemade Christmas card you can now write your Christmas greetings - now your personal Christmas gift is complete!

Make your own reindeer Christmas card - the perfect gift for Christmas

Most of us probably know "rudolph the red nosed reindeer". The Christmas sleigh pulled through the night sky by the many reindeer so that Father Christmas can distribute his presents is a great image, especially for children. That's why Christmas cards with a reindeer motif are especially suitable for them, but of course also for adults.

The reindeer does not necessarily have to be the typical brown colour. A golden or silver reindeer motif is more unusual. For a golden reindeer we recommend a white or beige card as a background, for the silver one a brown or black Christmas card, which highlights it even better. For our suggestion, you should also choose a card shape that can be opened. Drawing a reindeer yourself and then cutting it out can sometimes be challenging. Our tip: Choose a motif online, for example, print it out and then use it as a template. Then cut the reindeer out of the gold or silver paper with scissors. Then open your card and carefully fold the reindeer in half. Place the fold of the reindeer exactly on the fold of your card and then glue only a part of the left side of the reindeer on the left side of the card, do the same with the right side. When you carefully close the card, the reindeer should curve towards you and disappear inside the card when you close it. You can now write anything you like on the front of the Christmas card, for example "Merry Christmas". On the back of your personalised Christmas gift you can write your Christmas greetings or a personal text. The recipient will read your greeting, then open the card and find the reindeer, after which the back will be read. The best thing about it: the Christmas card can be placed on its side so that the reindeer in the middle stands upright.

A special Christmas gift: Christmas card with wooden Christmas tree balls

Accessories made of wood on Christmas cards are something very special. Both the colour and the feel of the wood are very popular. The wooden Christmas tree ball pendants can be bought in shops selling handicraft supplies. You will also need a natural-coloured card, lace ribbons, cord ribbon and washi tape in Christmas colours, or glitter or glitter pens. Add some Scotch tape and craft glue.

The first step is to stick a strip of lace ribbon under the crease of the card. Then glue each of the wooden balls onto one end of the cord. If the tags have a hole, you can also pull the cord through. Then glue the balls with the cord next to each other in the middle of the card using the Scotch film. To cover the cord nicely, stick a second lace ribbon (with a different pattern) under the first one. Depending on whether you have chosen washi paper, glitter or glitter pens, you can colour your wooden Christmas tree baubles in the last step. There are no limits to the patterns you can create. You can now write anything you like on the inside of the Christmas card and then give it as a gift.

Christmas card with candlelight as a last minute Christmas gift

Candles are an especially Christmassy motif for your Christmas card, because last but not least, a little light is lit every Advent. Use Christmas washi tape, a gold and black pencil and a pair of scissors. A card made of red paper underlines the cosy atmosphere.

After the red card has been cut and shaped, the candles are placed as the basic framework. Take the Washi Tape and stick it in different colours and sizes next to each other from the bottom edge of the card. It's up to you whether you align the card horizontally or vertically. Use the black pen to draw a small black wick in the centre of each candle and use the golden pen to make it glow by drawing a small drop-shaped flame on the wick. Finally, write your personal Christmas greeting on the inside of the card.

Christmas cards with Advent wreath - our idea for Christmas gifts

A little more challenging is the motif of an Advent wreath, which, however, looks extremely beautiful with its filigree branches. If you want to create your Christmas card with an advent wreath motif, you will need pens in the colours grey, red, green, black and gold as well as a piece of Christmas gift ribbon made of lace and craft glue.

It's best to start the Advent wreath with a pre-drawn circle in pencil, from which you can draw fir branches with the green pencil. To give the Advent wreath its natural look, the branches should be criss-crossed around the circle. In the next step, use the red and black pencils to add small black branches to the wreath and add red holly berries. In the middle of the Advent wreath you now have the opportunity to leave a greeting or wish, which you can create for example with black writing and a golden border. A small bow made from the lace ribbon completes the Christmas card perfectly. Attach it with the craft glue.
