FAQ Print products

Can I order smaller print runs/individual print runs?

Depending on the product, you can, of course, order small or individual print runs from us.

Which data formats do you accept for uploading?

You can create your entire layout in our FreeDesign tool. If you want to upload images and logos, JPG, PNG, and SVG files are suitable. If you would like to upload a finished layout, you can do so as a PDF file. The fonts must be embedded in a PDF file. Please use only PNG image files for graphics with transparency. The transparent parts of the image are automatically cut out.

What does "drag and drop" mean?

Drag and drop means "drag and drop". You can use it to quickly and easily move, copy or upload files to us.

How high should the resolution of my file be?

To achieve an optimal print result, we require a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and 150 dpi for posters in DIN A1 format (from ½ of the full surface). The higher the resolution, the better the print quality.

What is vector data/SVGs?

The encoding of the data does not consist of individual pixels, but of mathematically defined curves. Graphics and fonts can be saved in this way. Vector data is independent of resolution and can be scaled without loss of quality. They can be used in the FreeDesign tool.

Do I have to specify a trim/bleed?

Yes, bleed is the area that is defined beyond the page format. This avoids white "flashes" that can occur when cutting. In our design masks, the bleed area is displayed when you move elements close to or beyond the edge. Please fill the bleed with elements on the edge or background information. The font should be at least 1.5 mm from the edge of the page format.

What tolerance range do I have to take into account?

Precision and accuracy are extremely important in further processing. Computer-controlled machines are therefore now used in the printing industry. Nevertheless, tolerances can occur when cutting and folding the paper. Depending on the product type and material used, these can be up to 1 mm. Unfortunately, these differences in cutting and folding cannot be ruled out. They can result in elements such as images, fonts, or narrow strips being cut off, or in a layout looking uneven after cutting or folding. To ensure the best possible quality for you, try to avoid placing fonts or objects too close to the edge when creating the page layout. Unfortunately, complaints within the specified tolerance above cannot be recognised by us. Further information can be found under "Do I have to create a bleed/cut?"

Can I also select other fold dimensions when I upload a finished design?

Please create your product according to the information on the product page for your selected product. Fold sizes other than those we offer are not possible.

What types of paper are available?

Our team has already selected suitable paper types for you for each available print product. The various papers are also available in different paper thicknesses ("grammages"). The paper thickness is indicated as a number after the paper type. The higher this number is, the heavier and thicker the paper is.

  • Gloss (a paper with a shiny, smooth surface)
  • Matt (a paper with a matt, smooth surface)
  • Natural (a paper with a matt, rough surface)
  • Organic (a white recycled paper)
  • Cardboard (a particularly stiff paper)

  • Our glossy/matt paper is a high-quality, double-coated paper. Depending on the machine production, the paper can then be finished with a dispersion varnish (in matt or glossy finish). We therefore do not guarantee subsequent writability or printability.
  • Our wet-strength paper is available at 115 gsm when ordering posters. It has a blue reverse side and is particularly suitable for outdoor use as it is lightfast and weatherproof.
  • You can choose our film for our stickers and labels. It is permanently adhesive, white and has a glossy surface. The polythene film is suitable for outdoor use as it is water and weather-resistant and hard-wearing (tear-resistant). The use of level 6 lightfast printing inks means that, depending on exposure to sunlight, lightfastness of up to 4 months is achieved. The stickers are not suitable for use in washing machines or car washes, contain solvents and must not be used for primary food packaging.
  • You can choose from our adhesive paper when ordering stickers. The paper is permanently adhesive and has a slightly glossy surface. The adhesive paper is only suitable for indoor use as it has the same properties as normal paper. All our stickers contain solvents and are therefore not suitable for sticking directly onto food.

What is cellophane wrapping/special film?

With cellophane wrapping, a wafer-thin film is applied to the printed product. This not only enhances your products but also makes them more resistant and therefore more durable. Depending on your requirements, this film can achieve a glossy, matte, or matte-soft (soft-touch) effect.

What do I need to consider when printing textiles?

If you would like to use your own image or logo, please make sure that your file supports transparencies, if desired. This is possible with PNG files, for example. For production reasons, the textile dimensions may have a tolerance of ±5 %.

What do I need to consider when washing textiles?

To ensure that you can enjoy your motif for a long time to come, it is important that you observe the following cleaning and care instructions. As a general rule, once a textile item has been printed or embroidered, the manufacturer's instructions on the label no longer apply, as the printed motifs are more sensitive to washing and care than the fabric itself. Therefore, please observe the following care instructions (the respective printing process can be found in the data sheet on the design selection page):

Digital printing (direct on garment)

  • Wash your product before wearing it for the first time.
  • Do not wash above 30 degrees, and preferably use the gentle cycle.
  • Do not use fabric softener, chemical detergents or bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry your product.
  • Always wash and iron the textile product inside out.
  • Do not use steam when ironing.
  • With different print motifs, the motifs must not touch each other when ironing (e.g. with a print on the front and back). Here, for example, a piece of fabric can be placed between the two motifs.

Transfer printing and embroidery

  • Follow the washing instructions for the textile.
  • The transfer print and embroidery can be washed at up to 60 degrees.
  • Always wash and iron the textile product inside out.
  • Do not use bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry your product.

Does the paper come from a trustworthy source?

Our materials never come from illegal logging or production. Each paper product is labelled with a DDS number (Due Diligence Statement) that guarantees a traceable origin. Many of our materials are also certified for their sustainability (e.g. FSC, PEFC, or Blue Angel).

How do I obtain the DDS number and EUDR information?

You will receive the DDS number (Due Diligence Statement) and all relevant EUDR information (European Union Deforestation Regulation) automatically for each order item after your order. You can find the information on your invoice or in the "My orders" section.
